PSA

To the stupid motherfucker driving (if that's what you want to call it) the blue 18-wheeler, turning far too sharply from Independence Avenue to northbound 169, across the Broadway Bridge at about 8:00AM, and holding up traffic in two directions for 2 complete light cycles in the process, do everyone a favor, and drop dead.

Or at least quit pretending that you know what you are doing behind the wheel of something with off-tracking that can be estimated with a rule the size of a soccer field. Oh, and give up the big-rig job, you're a piker.

That is all.

Deer in headlights

Was it me, or did George look like a deer in headlights last night?

Going to Denny's at lunch and then to Cabela's after work, and I'm not going to be there just to look.

UPDATE, 1:20PM: Just put another 1,000 rounds of 5.45x39 into the pickup. The price was so good, I almost feel as though I stole it.

Time's coming...

when we're going to have to shoot the bastards, on sight.

There is no other way around this, and the reason is that the PETA whackos aren't about anything other than rank totalitarianism. It's who they are, and all they are.

The UN is starting to take them, and others like them, seriously.

When will the rest of us wake up to the realization that these people are bent on controlling everything about how everyone lives, in an effort at outright destruction of the human species?

It's not too soon to shoot them.

I wish he wouldn't have said that...

ya know, like out loud;
"...if I had a brain in my head, I would liquidate my father's guitar for about fifteen grand and buy gold and ammo."
'Cuz I've been considering something similar for the last several weeks, and the most recent news didn't help.

Selling the damned car would be excruciating, as I've owned it for 20+ years, and I rebuilt her myself. All of it. And I've been vacillating on it now for a few months, as driving it is infrequent, and it's not any sort of "primary" vehicle for me. For now, I've deemed it unnecessary. A decision that I will regret making, either way, I'm sure.

Possibly more to the point of what Billy is getting at, and for whatever it's worth, I have a side of beef that was ordered about 2 months ago that will get stocked in my freezer next week. This is something I'd normally do this time every year, but right now, it seems far more imperative that I do so, more so than just an ordinary chore.

This whole situation is going south, and I fear we're just seeing the beginnings of the next great meltdown.

So, is this "patriotic" thing he's talking about kinda like AmWay?

Really, one is to just "pay-up", presumably because they can "afford it"? This isn't really a voluntary arrangement that you are talking about here, is it Joe?

A couple of questions:

Are there any tangible rewards for "donating" more, or do I just get brownie points for "donating"more?

Do I get to feel better about myself for doing so?

Do I get to rub others' noses in it 'cuz I'm "more patriotic"? Do I get a medal for being a good prole?

Inquiring minds want to know, Joe.

Dipshit.

The state of things, and those to come.

So, I'm one who generally tries to keep up with news and world events, so I've definitely taken a notice of the current situation regarding "issues of liquidity", as it's being put.

Barry, the pompous ass that he is, of course, is trying to explain to all of us proles exactly how it is that newer or more regulation is "needed" to "catch up" with the "markets", 'cuz, ya know, we're just a bunch of children in need of NannyKnowitAll to fix our shit for us.

The man is utterly clueless about all of this, and I'm looking around me, and hardly anyone seems to really know anything about any of this mess. Maybe just one or two people really have enough resolve to look at this in the steely-eyed manner necessary, and call this what it really is, and that's rank socialism.

Some sage words from Billy, to keep in mind;

"what is necessary now is complete separation of economics and state - just as in the vaunted aspect of church and state - and for all the same reasons."
From where I'm sitting, it's all looking like a big shit sandwich from which I'm going to be forced to take a big effin' bite.

It seems Old Joe was right

Because one of the assholes who's long maintained his innocence in the Rosenberg trials has now come clean about his involvement.

How nice.

So, the next time some leftist starts squawking about "McCarthyism" running amok or some other rot, I'm going to beat the dumb fucker to within an inch of his worthless life, as the phenomenon of Red Encroachment has clearly been a facet of historical fact, since before I was born.

Is it too early in the day to make an acquisition?

Not knowing what one is talking about, redux

It's just amazing to me to watch someone dance around the exact meaning, in plain English, of what it is that I've clearly stated over there.

Some men, you just can't reach.

Connie's over there, changing the subject and context of the argument, and getting called on it, only for her to try to claim that I'm doing the same thing. I've got a clue for her, and it revolves around absolutely none of what she thinks I'm talking about, 'cuz I'm not talking 'bout the show, just Clarkson, opening his mouth about shit he doesn't understand. And that is all.

Honest to God, I've been a reader since almost day one over there, and I can't say that I've disagreed with the two of them too often at all. A poke at someone else, and something that is without doubt provable, and those two want to go batshit over it.

Simply amazing.

Hope they enjoy that retirement thing.

The IPCC can bite me!

So, it's not enough that I'm suppose to send my car to the crusher...excuse me, recycler, and, ya know, walk the 30-odd miles to work, convert my house to PV panels, install a composting toilet....blah, blah, blah, but now, I'm to eat less meat and more greens (that give me gas, almost invariably), so as to save the planet or something. So much for that idea.

Just yesterday, for Sunday breakfast, I had three fried eggs, over-easy, with half-dozen strips of bacon, toast with jam and three cups of coffee.

The result; weight this morning, 156 lbs., and the last time I checked, body fat was around 7%.

I just hate the overt threats that these punks keep throwing out, almost as though they're going to try to tax me on my diet or something, to wit;

'Give up meat for one day [a week] initially, and decrease it from there,' and, 'The group has called for governments to lead campaigns to reduce meat consumption by 60 per cent by 2020.'

Seriously, I hope the UN tries it. Can't wait to see them lose, again.

H/T to Kim.

Can't say I'm unhappy to hear it...

though my '96 Nissan Hardbody is still spitting out 25-26 mpg at 174K, and showing no signs of getting tired at all.

I think I'll keep driving it until the wheels fall off, as it's been paid for, for almost 10 years now, and seeing as I slog about 350 miles per week to and from the office shackles, it's still giving great service, all things considering.

The Krauter and I are giving serious consideration to buying another vehicle, and the current incentives are nothing short of fantastic, as most manufacturers are currently reeling, and are desperate to almost give away their inventory, especially sport utility vehicles. And since she works from home, and it would be used infrequently, we're giving serious consideration to this:

The Greens can piss off.
